Five of our clients won won book awards at the 2013 Colorado Independent Publishers Association EVVY Book Awards banquet held on May 18th. Here are the 5 award-winning books we designed. Noted below are the team members who have participated in the production of each book.
John Hall is all smiles with a copy of his book and his award certificate. John’s book Do What You Can! won 3rd place in the “Self-Help” category. Several team members participated in the production of his book: Barbara McNichol edited the book, I came up with the cover concept, Kerrie Lian designed the cover and interior, Helena Mariposa proofread the book and converted it into ebook formats. The steps graphic on the front cover was based on John’s logo designed by Matt McKendree.

John Beigel’s book, Making Perfect Popcorn won a 1st place award in the “How-To” category. Barbara McNichol edited the book, and Kerrie Lian designed the cover and interior. Shown below is the front cover of his book.
Hal Urban’s book, 20 Gifts of Life won two awards: 2nd place award in the “Parenting/Family” category and a 2nd place award in the “Inspirational” category. Kerrie Lian designed the cover and interior of his book. Shown below is the front cover of his book.
Julia Spencer’s book, Looking Through a Keyhole also won 2 awards: 3rd place in the “Inspirational” category and a merit award in the “Autobiography/Memoir” category. Gabrielle Welch’s book, The Pizza Trap won a merit award in the “Diet/Health/Fitness” category. Shown below is the cover (which was not designed by one of our team members). Kerrie Lian designed the interior, Helena Mariposa proofread and converted the book into ebook formats and Judy Gordon created the extensive index.
