I’ve compiled a list of typical items a speaker may include in their speaker media kit. These items may also go on the “media” page of a website. Meeting and event planners should be able to easily download these items from the media page. A press kit can be electronic (a multiple-page PDF file), or printed and placed in an attractive folder with a logo, photo or graphic on the front. The PDF file should have an attractive cover page too. Some of these items can be compiled into a speaker one-sheet which should be made into a PDF file…
Do you have a vision for a special creative project? Perhaps a desire to publish your own book? Maybe you’ve written your manuscript, but just don’t have the money to pay for professional editing, cover design, interior layout, website design or marketing. These days when it is difficult to obtain a business loan, where can you turn? One viable option is crowdfunding. I learned a lot about crowdfunding from Leigh Lepore at the January CIPA meeting so I thought I would share my notes with you. A Growing Phenomenon Crowdfunding is a rapidly growing phenomenon. I’ve asked one of my team members, Patrice Rhoades-Baum to share an article. These valuable tips are from a recent post on her blog. Patrice is my go-to expert for branding, website and speaker one sheet copywriting. Your clients love teaming with you. When you ask for testimonials, they happily agree. BUT … They are crazy-busy. They don’t get around to it. They forget. You are uncomfortable reminding (and pestering) them. Sound familiar? You’re not alone! The secret is in crafting layouts that are full of power, punch and purpose . . . John Hall’s speaking platform is built on his 6-Step “Do What You Can” System. We designed his abstract logo with six 3D blocks. This image is the basis of his brand and book cover design. As a vital, motivational speaker it was important to show John’s engaging photo on the front of his card. To make him really…
Kindle Matchbook Program Amazon has just unveiled Kindle Matchbook for ebook publishers. This special program encourages their customers to buy two copies of your book; the printed version at the regular price and the ebook version at a discounted price. Publishers receive approximately 50% royalty on the ebook sold and a standard royalty on the printed book sold. What this means for the publisher is increased revenue; they’re selling two books at one time. The book buyer can immediately download the Kindle version while waiting for the printed version to arrive in the mail. Publishers will need to discount the…
Nowadays photos, emails, music, videos, data files and applications reside on your phone, tablet and computers. It is important to find a way to synchronize and backup all your important data and easily transfer large files to other computers. Fortunately it is easy and inexpensive to do. There should be no reason in the world for you to lose important files. Don’t Let This Happen to You! Recently a friend of mine had his computer stolen from his workplace. He lost over 30 years of files. He never backed up his data. His computer was never found, and he was…
Shown below are a few covers our team recently designed for our clients. We strive to create unique eye-catching book covers with attention-grabbing graphics and compelling titles and subtitles. To reach the right target market we need to understand what intrigues and interests those folks. By using carefully chosen keywords and appropriate fonts in the title, selecting symbolic colors and imagery, and using the right style of photos and/or graphics we can create the most effective message for each specific target market. As a result, each book cover appeals to the right audience. The following 2 books are for managers, leaders and directors…
